street fashion: graffiti alphabet-update

recently i pulled out the graffitti alphabet that i did as part of my street fashion series. i decided that it needed a bit of brightening up, so i used my flourescent pink sharpie poster paint marker and did just that! see the original (plus the tutorial on how i made it) here.

gifted art

i wanted to share the art that i made for my mom and my two aunts for christmas. i made them each a scrappy bookmark.

for my mom a small kokopelli journal. i had this stack of lavender cards that were already cut, i stitched together a small collage, stitched it to a scrap piece of paper and then used doublestick tape to attach it to the first card in the stack, then spiral bound it all together.

remember these super cute alphabet books? i turned two of them into sketchbooks for my aunts. the books contain mostly sketchbook paper with a few pieces of graph paper thrown into the mix.

i love how everything turned out and would definitely like to feature similar things in my etsy shop in the future.

street fashion #8

recycled journal - that pest jonathan

just added this new journal to my etsy shop.

the listing reads: Blank journal made from a recycled children's book, That Pest Jonathan. Book was a paperback with a torn cover. Covers have been covered with contact paper. Journal contains a mix of blank and lined papers, as well as all of the original pages from the book. Book measures 7 3/4" x 5" and is spiral bound with a black metal coil.

i also added tons of packs of dyed paper towels, perfect for collage or even sewing projects.

inspiration, doodles and clippings, lace printed packing tape.
the beginning.
and the end. inspired by julie fei-fan balzer's art journal everyday. (article in cloth paper scissor's pages magazine).
fold out page. simple paper hinge. tutorial here. very cute drawing by zoe, imagining maddy as a ballerina.
